Friday November 9, 2012: The Best of Lucky Luck (Mahalo MSCD-4020). Using the same cover illustration as the LP album (Mahalo M-4007) might suggest that the CD is a reissue of the LP. Not so. The CD has 13 tracks. The LP had 13 tracks. But only 8 of those tracks appear on both the LP and the CD. The remaining 5 tracks on the CD are apparently previously unreleased. Which also means that 5 tracks from the LP were not reissued on the CD.
Wednesday November 7, 2012: Hawaii Aloha, featuring the Kawaiahao Church Choir and easy listening instrumental favorites (Mahalo M-4008). The title track on this album, which has been reissued on CD, is the definitive a capella choral rendition, for anyone wanting to learn to sing “Hawai'i Aloha” properly.
Sunday November 4, 2012: Diamond Head Beach Boys. Diamond Head (Mahalo M-4005). If you look more closely at the cover, the “Diamond Head” in bold red is surrounded by other text that reads “Songs from Diamond Head and other Hawaiian music from the films,” and what looks like a track list in the lower left corner is actually a list of films whose music is included on this album. Who were the “Diamond Head Beach Boys”? The music is well done. They deserve to be known.
